Annual La Femme Film Festival 2012 launches 8th edition

La Femme Film Festival founder Leslie LaPage announced the 8th Annual La Femme Film Festival 2012, films screening at the festivalfrom October 11th – 14th in Los Angeles, CA. with Hollywood’s Celebrity Stars: Daryl Hannah, Susan Sarandon, Olympia Dukakis, Morgan Fairchild, Billy Zane and Andie MacDowell.

 

The four (4) day fest will screen over 100 films highlighting independent features, shorts, documentaries, commercials, and music videos. We are excited to announce some of the amazing films participating in the festival:  ‘Arise’ narrated by Daryl Hannah, ‘My Way’ starring Ron Jeremy, ‘Nothing Like Chocolate’ narrated by Susan Sarandon, ‘Ya’ Gotta Go Higher’ produced by Yul Spencer, ‘A Green Story’ starring Shannon Elizabeth, and Billy Zane, ‘Mighty Fine’ starring Andie MacDowell and Chazz Palminteri, ‘The Misadventures of the Dunderheads’ starring Olympia Dukakis, Haley Joel Osment, and Alison Brie, ‘A Perfect Ending’ directed by Nicole Conn starring Barbara Niven and Morgan Fairchild, ‘The Year Dolly Parton Was My Mom’ directed by Tara Johns, and Jill Jaress (Golden Globe nom) in ‘The One-Nighter’, and "The Glamorous Lie" by Executive Producer Yavaughnie Wilkins examining the controverial relationship between her and Charles E Phillips.

The Festival is the biggest women’s festival in the United States with a star studded Award’s Ceremony highlighting films from all over the world. The Hollywood distribution community seeks out our filmmakers and films securing distribution in markets all over the world. The festival screens over 100 films (Sundance Film Festival screens 160 films over 10 days) and showcases special screenings, seminars, and much more.  The four day event in Los Angeles hosts special networking events at LA hot spots and a gala Awards Ceremony attended by “A” List celebritiesLA Femme is dedicated to celebrating and empowering female artists creating media for a worldwide audience.

 

Previous Celebrity Award Honorees included : Patty Jenkins (Monster), Lainie Kazan (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), Jennifer Yuh Nelson (Kung Fu Panda 2), Angela Bassett (Green Hornet), Virginia Madsen (Sideways), Marianne Jean-Baptise (Without a Trace), Sara Gilbert (Roseanne), Diablo Cody (Juno), Vivica Fox (Kill Bill), Rosanna Arquette (After Hours), Lea Thompson (Caroline in the City), and many more. 

 

The screening and event schedule for the festival is available online at www.lafemme.org.  Tickets can NOW be purchased online or at the door.  Full Access VIP Passes are at $150 for Regular Price, and Discounted VIP Passes are available for WGA & SAG Members at $59; tickets for individual films are $10; and single seminars are $20.
