ANIMACOR'08 festival in Andalusia

The Animation industry will celebrate the 6th Meeting in Córdoba
Córdoba, October 15, 2008

The Audiovisual Foundation of Andalusia (RTVA), in partnership with the Association for the Development of the Animation Industry (ANIMACOR) and the Andalusian Society for the Development of Telecommunications (SANDETEL, S.A.) is organizing the 6th Animation Meeting in Andalusia, which will be held on November 5th as part of the activities of the ANIMACOR'08 festival being held from the 3rd to the 8th of that month.

This 6th meeting entitled Animation faced with New Windows of Opportunity will be a unique opportunity for producers of Andalusian animation to gain access to telecommunications operators and content distributors and to learn first hand about new business possibilities and new windows of opportunity. This collaboration, begun in 2004 with the organization of the "Work Table for professionals, producers and companies serving animation in Andalusia", deals with the needs and issues sought after by companies and professionals in the sector.

The meeting will be held during the morning on Wednesday, November the 5th in the Council Chamber (Salón de Plenos) of the Córdoba County Offices as part of the Round Table: Animation Audiovisual Content for new windows of opportunity: Demands for content and procedures and conditions for obtaining it, followed by a debate on the part of attending animation companies from Andalusia, who will be able to share experiences regarding common issues from different perspectives.

The objective of the initiative is, as in past years, to create a space for reflection and dialogue in conjunction with the festival, and by so doing, to strengthen this yearly event for Andalusian animation producers and foster collaboration among them. The complete program and all information about it can be found at the Foundation's website www.fundacionava.org.

The quality of the Andalusian industry compiled in one work

At the festival and as an additional complement to this activity, the Audiovisual Foundation of Andalusia will present the Catalogue of Audiovisual Work of Andalusia 2007, which complies 128 films from 80 Andalusian producers on one DVD, all classified by genre and format in the different sections of Animation (17), Short Films (43), Full-length Films (14), Documentaries (29), Multimedia (2) and Television (23).

This unique catalogue, which since 2004 has annually compiled the different products of Andalusian audiovisual work, shows the diversity and internationalization of the Andalusian cultural industry developed in recent years, whose audiovisual productions are improving in quality and quantity every year. Previous editions of the catalogue are available at the Website for the Promotion of Andalusian Audiovisual Work(www.avandalus.org), an innovative tool addressing the demands of the Andalusian audiovisual sector by supporting companies and Andalusian professionals in their expansion nationally and abroad, in addition to fostering co-production initiatives with other national and international companies.

The www.avandalus.org website is an initiative of the Andalusian Audiovisual Foundation, with support from the Andalusian Innovation and Development Agency IDEA (the Regional Development Agency of the Andalusian Government, which is part of the Department of Innovation, Science and Business of the Regional Government of Andalusia), and in collaboration with the Andalusian production company associations AEPAA-APRIA (Association of Independent Production Companies of Andalusia) and PECAA (Platform of Andalusian Audiovisual Businesses and Professionals).
