Martin Scorsese Masterclass in Cannes

A new Festival in Beverly Hills, at last!

The Invocation will receive the 2010 Humanitarian Award at the Beverly Hills Film, TV and New Media Festival, directed by Emmanuel Itier(“Scarecrow”).

“The Invocation” is a quest to explain the notion of “God” around the World, in our daily life, and through Religion, Spirituality, Science, History, Politics, Philosophy and Entertainment.

The film features over 80 interviews with various leaders in diverse fields as well as the common people living in the many geographical areas visited from Tokyo to Rome to London to Mexico City to Delhi to New York to Cape Town. Narrated by Sharon Stone, a minister and peace activist in her own right, the documentary includes Deepak Chopra, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Oliver Stone, The Dalai Lama, John Hagelin, Will Arntz, Michael Beckwith, Mark Walhberg, Rosario Dawson, Laura Harring, Stewart Copeland and Dave Stewart of Eurythmics, with songs by Annie Lennox.

THE INVOCATION presents to the audience an overview of the pursuit of world peace through assorted avenues including but not limited to the multitude of religions, scientific research, historical fact, political agendas and multi-cultural philosophies.

The presentation of the Humanitarian Award will take place on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the Aqua Lounge in Beverly Hills alongside fellow honorees Martin Landau and The Jackson family. Red Carpet starts at 6:30PM with the award presentation starting at 9PM.

THE INVOCATION will be screening at the Beverly Hills Film, TV and New Media Festival on Friday October 22 at 7:30PM at the Laemmle Music Hall 3 Theatre.

At long last a decent film festival in Beverly Hills, what a relief after extremely bad experiences with other venues in the city like Beverly Hills Film Festival or Artivist. Both were terrible memories for filmfestivals.com
