9th EROS Film Festival ready to play

Out Film CT, the producers of the CT Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, and EROS (Encouraging Respect of Sexualities), the Trinity College student organization, present the 9th EROS Film Festival from Nov 11th – 17th. As always with this Film Festival, there will be an eclectic mix of films and documentaries, old favorites and exciting new works that will appeal to all LGBT film lovers. Here are some of this year’s highlights:

Boy I Am This feature-length documentary is an important exploration of issues rarely touched upon by most films portraying female-to-male (FTM) transgender experiences.
Tick Tock Lullaby We're none of us getting any younger. But what's a recovering-alcoholic, career-avoidant lesbian to do if she wants to get pregnant 'mistakenly'? Sharply witty and admirably honest, this tale will delight audiences with its idiosyncratic take on motherhood.
Curiosity of Chance An already 'out' and eccentric teenager recruits a bizarre circle of friends - made up of two oddball outcasts, a straight jock he's crushing on and a drag queen - to help him bring down the homophobic bully threatening his would-be peaceful, high-school existence.
Desert Hearts Vivian Bell, a repressed English professor who goes to Reno for a quickie divorce in 1959. She finds herself increasingly drawn to Cay Rivers, an open and self-assured lesbian. The emotions released by their developing intimacy, and Vivian's insecurities about her feelings towards Cay, are played out against a backdrop of rocky landscapes and country & western songs.
Laughing Matters...The Men Bruce Vilanch, Alec Mapa, Bob Smith, André Kelley, Eddie Sarfaty and Scott Kennedy: these funny gay men share the spotlight in LAUGHING MATTERS . . . THE MEN. The film focuses on the varied backgrounds that inform these comedians' uproarious comedy. These stories and wry commentaries on modern gay life are sure to get you giggling.
The Bubble Israeli director Eytan Fox (Yossi & Jagger) brings a modern-day gay Romeo and Juliet set in a hip Tel Aviv neighborhood far from the surrounding conflict. When sexy Israeli Noam falls for hot young Palestinian Ashraf, Noam and his roommates help Ashraf stay in Tel Aviv illegally. Will love conquer all or will the bubble of their utopian dream burst amid the tragic reality of current Middle East politics?
