7th International Panorama opens with 144 films to screen

7th International Panorama: 24/9 to 1/10

The International Panorama of Independent Creators appeals to young creators and it offers them the chance to present prolusions or not, with the only precondition to respect the culture and values of every population, to creators who do not have the financial support of governmental institutions and big studios. In this way the International Panorama is concerned with the “creator” cinema and the presented films are little “gems” of the international cinema as they demonstrate ingenuity in conception and freedom in their realization.

The presentations will be accompanied by the exhibition of awarded photos of the 2nd International Photograph Competition entitled “Meeting points” which was organized in cooperation with FOTO ART MAGAZINE – web magazine for photography and art (www.fotoartmagazine.gr).

The organisers want to share the event with our readers and announced the following:

"Here we are again at the 7th International Panorama of Independent Creators of films and videos (www.independent.gr). Committed to our date and to the 7th art , we have auspiciously reached the seventh year of our constitution which has already been consolidates in the public’s and creators’ minds.

Always committed to our basic and non-debatable principles, at the same time we took advantage of new technologies intending to get as far as possible. Respecting the preconditions for an independent festival, we insist in the absence of a pre-judging committee, as we want our Panorama to remain an effort of free expression for every director without censorship. Anyway, it is the public that judges a film, that approves or disapproves it. Not us! Moreover, remaining undemanding and with a really low budget available we try to do air best proving for the promotion of art there is no need for high budgets but a lot of passion!

In contrast to the most optimistic estimation, the final number of entries reached 144 films from 45 countries for the 7th Panorama which is organized by the non-profit Company “International Panorama of Independent Creators” in cooperation with the cultural company “Screen” and the web magazine Cineek (www.cineek.gr) under the aegis of the Rentis Municipality. The quantitative and qualitative improvement of the Panorama is reflected in the fact that in the entries there have been included films already awarded in prestigious festivals organized abroad like the Canes, Toronto, Berlin, Santans, London, Karl obi, Bari etc. "
