This Wednesday, June 25, the 2008 Avignon Film Festival gets underway with the 25th Anniversary Fete and a screening "under the stars," in front of the world-famous Palace of the Popes. Running June 26 through June 29, the Avignon Film Festival presents nine features, 6 full-length documentaries and over 20 short films all of which are in competition for grand prizes that will be announced on Sunday, June 29 by an international jury. In addition, a special selection of six thought-provoking features will pay tribute to the event's quarter-century of bringing together American and European independents.
