16th Moet British Independent Film Awards
Frankly we would be really happy to share this independent event if Raindance Elliott Grove was not part of the Organization: He owes us money for two years, and laughs about it, offering promo on his site against the service we delivered.
Monday 9 December 2013; Last night, at Old Billingsgate Market, the stars of the British film industry braved the cold and arrived in hoards for the 16th Moët British Independent Film Awards. This glamorous event, hosted by The Hobbit actor James Nesbitt, brought together the crème de la crème of British cinema to celebrate the wealth of independent British film this year.
Attendees of the star-studded event included internationally renowned director Paul Greengrass, who received the Variety Award, and magnificent actress Julie Walters CBE who won the prestigious Richard Harris Award, introduced to recognise outstanding contribution in the British film industry.
Other guests included Saoirse Ronan, Ken Loach, Steve Coogan, Douglas Booth, Eddie Marsan, Hayley Atwell, Jim Broadbent, Lindsay Duncan, Mark Strong, Harvey Weinstein, Imogen Poots, James McAvoy, Felicity Jones, Stanley Tucci, Joanne Froggatt, MyAnna Buring, Tom Hardy, Natascha McElhone, Sting and Trudie Styler.
James McAvoy, recipient of the Best Actor award for his role in Filth, commented in his acceptance speech, “I was thinking about the word ‘independent’, and it really means ‘on your own’ and it’s tough going. But tonight we’re not on our own.”
Moët Champagne was flowing all night, and each winner received the stunning new iconic BIFA Trophy designed by Fredrikson Stallard and created by Swarovski, a longstanding partner of the MBIFAs for the past three years.
Prior to the awards, guests dined on a delicious menu and enjoyed magnums of Moët & Chandon.

Salmon, horseradish and dill rillettes with rings of shallot, baby herb salad, fresh apple chutney, rye bread and green oil
Caramelised pumpkin wedge with crumbled cashel blue, toasted ginger bread and herb vinaigrette winter leaves
Pan fried fillet of bream with bubble and squeak cake, kale and herb cream sauce
Roasted butternut squash and sage pithivier with creamy potato mash, braised red cabbage with blackberries and redcurrants, buttered sprouts and cider sauce
Salted caramel pannacotta with sweet cranberries and vanilla puree

During the after party Moët & Chandon was served alongside Belvedere Vodka cocktails;
Belvedere, Tonic & Pink Grapefruit - a refreshing twist on the classic. (Belvedere) Red Vodka and Fever Tree Indian Tonic with a squeeze of fresh pink grapefruit.
As well as a quenching mix of (Belvedere) Vodka, pressed apple juice and pomegranate juice over cubed ice and mint.
Music was provided by nine-piece The Incredibly Strange Film Band, who specialise in TV and film themes from the 60’s to present day.
