Opening Night Film “Jesse’s Story”
Director: Mark Jacobs
Synopsis: At 17, Jesse Billauer experienced a surfing accident that left him a C-6 quadriplegic. Paralyzed from mid chest down he still surfs big waves. My film documents his childhood success as a sponsored athlete, the accident, who
inspires him, learning how to surf as a spinal cord injured person with no use of his hands or body except from the shoulders up, his will to 'live life to the fullest' and living out his dreams. The film stars Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Bob Hurley, Christopher Reeve and a host of friends and family.

SATURDAY AUGUST 8, 2009
Closing Night Film: “2:22”
by Phillip Guzman
The plan was simple; the events that followed were not. When a tight
crew of four thieves decide to take down a boutique hotel in the dead of winter
things go horribly wrong. Unsuspecting hotel guests unwittingly play a part in this tangled web. Unusual lives and hard choices intertwine, twisting the scheme to the point of no return. Loyalty, love, friendship and honor are brought to a boil in this graphic crime thriller. Rooted in reality 2:22 draws its style from the classic French film Rififi with the story telling of Dog Day Afternoon.
