Submissions to the 9th Lunenburg Doc Fest are open

2022 SUBMISSIONS ARE OPEN

Submit to the 9th Lunenburg Doc Fest for a chance to showcase your film in our hybrid celebration of documentary September 22-28, 2022!

Screenings will take place online, at select onsite venues, and outdoors as part of our "Docs on the Dock" programming on Lunenburg's beautiful harbour.

Lunenburg Doc Fest showcases a diverse program of feature-length and short documentary films and presents cash awards, community and destination events, celebrations, plus The Dock Market industry lineup. The Dock Market features professional development sessions such as workshops, masterclasses, panels, round tables, and 1-to-1 meetings for filmmakers and industry decision-makers.

The festival pays screening fees and awards are presented in each of the following categories:

• Feature Documentary Award ($1000 + crystal trophy)
• Audience Award ($1000 + crystal trophy)
• Short Film Award (crystal trophy)
• Atlantic Filmmaker Award (in-kind goods/services + crystal trophy)

All fact-based films will be considered. Lunenburg Doc Fest has particular interest in documentaries within the following categories: Social Issue, Biography, Atlantic, International, Environmental, Political, Art, Music, Youth, Family, and Experimental. Interactive web documentaries are also considered. The festival showcases major artists as well as emerging voices.

*** THERE WILL BE NO TRAVEL, ACCOMMODATION, OR CRUISE SUPPORT FOR FILMMAKERS IN 2022 DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS EPIDEMIC ***

For *onsite festival* editions LDF supports travel, accommodation, and full festival and market access to a director of each selected feature documentary.
