REGULAR ENTRY DEADLINE APPROACHING FOR THE 15TH ANNUAL BIG SKY DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL

Regular Deadline: September 1st
Late Deadline: October 6th

The regular deadline for submissions to BSDFF 2018 is approaching! The premier venue for documentary film in the American West, Big Sky seeks non-fiction films of all lengths, forms, genres and subject matter. Selected by MovieMaker Magazine's 2017 Top 50 Festivals Worth the Entry Fee, BSDFF draws an audience of over 20,000 including thousands of avid documentary film fans, filmmakers, distributors, broadcasters and industry professionals. The festival brings to life the idyllic mountain town of Missoula, Montana for ten days each February as the largest cinema event in Montana and a destination for documentary connoisseurs from around the world.

A competitive event, Big Sky offers cash awards in four categories and is an Oscar-qualifying event for short and mini documentaries. In addition to screenings, VIP events and live performances, the festival features DocShop filmmaker's forum, a 5-day conference that will explore the intersection of film and technology in 2018 and culminates with the Big Sky Pitch for works in progress.

The 15th annual festival takes place February 16-25, 2018. Learn more and submit your film here >>

The open call seeks sound-rich, true stories told creatively as audio documentaries, running between 3 minutes and 25 minutes. Entries may be submitted online through Submittable, open now through November 5, 2017. Learn more and enter here >>
