A Tribute to Peter Schreiner in collaboration with Ö1
One of the high points of this year's festival is the tribute dedicated to the documentary filmmaker Peter Schreiner. Alongside his current hits Bellavista and Totó, older films from his idiosyncratic body of work which haven't been shown for years will also be among the films being honoured. Additionally the filmmaker will be presenting a workshop giving an insight into his filmic practice, references and personal approach.
Guest: Romuald Karmakar. A joint event with the Austrian Film Museum
This year's international tribute is dedicated to the German filmmaker Romuald Karmakar, who will present in Graz, his current DJ portrait Villalobos and a selection of his documentaries and films. Together with his favourite actor Manfred Zapatka, he will also be leading a workshop on the ambivalent relationship between directing and acting.
Diagonale Festival Trailer 2010. A co-production with the Kunsthaus Graz
This year's festival trailer brRRMMMWHEee has been created by the multi-award winning video and music performance artist Billy Roisz, whose work in recent years has featured in the Diagonale again and again. Austrian moviegoers can look forward to a high-speed chase of electrons in sound and pictures from February 16.
