daryleqIn line with the vision of The Next Movement . . . "The U.S. justice system is inhumane and immoral, and can only be changed through the efforts of everyday people passionately working to educate and inform their communities. Core to our success is the conviction that America is committing an incredible injustice on entire populations of its own citizens, and that brought to light, average Americans will become allies in the fight for justice and human rights." . . . the (In)Justice for All Film Festival (IFAFF) will bring to audiences films that explore our current criminal justice system – police, courts, and corrections – and the for-profit industries that feed at this trough of human misery. We will share the stories of the millions that are relegated to second-class citizenship under an unforgiving justice system. We will show better waysthat exist in other countries and even best practices right here in America. IFAFF will screen feature length documentaries, as well as topical shorts, with themes covering the following subjects:
This Chicago film festival will feature venues throughout the city, including theaters, churches and universities, and relevant panel discussions, as we bring the voice of filmmakers to the fight to end the "War on Drugs" and humanize our justice system. If you have a feature lenght film, documentary, or short film/documentary, that addresses any issues associated with the epidemic of mass incarceration in America, you are encourage to submit it. in addition to the theatrical presentations, we will be featuring a virtual component, as we stream aspects of the festival globally for those filmmakers that want to take their message to the broadest possible audience. We look foward to your submissions, and your partnership, in this fight for justice.
Injustice for anyone, is injustice to everyone . . .It is with great excitement that we launch the initial, first, numero uno, (In)Justice for All Film Festival. We are excited about the potential for educating our community on the inhumanity of our current criminal (in)justice system. We are thrilled to be a platform for the creative voices of the many filmmakers that are working hard to provide an outlet for both their talent and their concience. And we are excited about the potential this festival holds to be a plaform for they type of grass roots support that will be necessary to make the systemic changes necessary to reduce our current prison populations from over 2.3 million (the largest number of prisoners of any country in the world), by orders of magnitude. God bless your work, and we look forward to bring a light to this issue and to your films.
