LAST DAY TO SUBMIT FOR REGULAR DEADLINE!!

The 14th Annual DANCES WITH FILMS

(DWF) is dedicated to discovering and championing unknown works by

filmmakers from around the globe and providing them with a unique

opportunity to screen in front of critics, audiences, and industry

heavyweights.

Taking place in the heart of the filmmaking industry, Los Angeles, CA,

the Festival presents nearly 100 films each year through a captivating

program of feature and short narrative and documentary films, as well as

music videos. In true independent fashion, DWF requires that films in

competition have no "stars" in the production, instead relying on

quality filmmaking to attract audiences and industry alike.

Highly respected in the independent festival world, DWF offers

filmmakers a place to make connections, take meetings, and network with

industry decision makers. Each year numerous distribution companies and

development departments attend DWF specifically in search of projects

overlooked by mainstream outlets. Throughout the years, the Festival has

premiered films of future Oscar nominees, series creators, leading

actors, and many others who went on to successful careers in the

industry.

MORE ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Along with one of the most distinctive statues given on the circuit, DWF

awards in-kind goods such as the Canon 5D SLR Camera, FilmTracker, and

Movie Magic Budgeting software. New this year for all films across all

categories, is the Industry Choice Award, jurored by a blue-ribbon panel

of industry pros, and offering the winner a meeting with one of the

judges.

Alumni include 2011 Oscar-nominee Jesse Eisenberg (THE SOCIAL NETWORK)

and Carmen Marron whose film, GO FOR IT!, was recently picked up by

LIONSGATE. Alumni Mark Olsen and Will Scheffer (creators of "Big Love")

sum up the experience best, saying: "DWF manages to keep its focus on

heart and soul while still putting small films on the map."
