Film Festival Dates Announced | CinefestOz Film Festival | Western Australia
Organisers of CinéfestOZ, the vibrant Western Australian film festival that showcases Australian and French films are urging film enthusiasts and the film industry to place 21 – 25 August in their diaries.
The five day film festival has a reputation for presenting a slate of international and national premiere feature film screenings, red carpet events, filmmaker forums, small bar screenings, winery lunches and unique experiences, centred in the stunning Geographe Bay and Margaret River wine regions.
Australian film luminaries David Wenham (the Festival’s Patron), Bryan Brown and Fred Schepisi attended last year’s event, along with Tim Ferguson, actress Emma Booth, and actress and filmmaker Matilda Brown.
Festival Manager Malinda Nixon says CinéfestOZ is a festival for film lovers and the Australian film industry.
“CinéfestOZ is a permanent fixture in Western Australia’s festival and event scene, bringing independent feature, short and documentary films to the South West for an authentic film festival experience with its own brand of glamour and laid-back south-west sophistication.
“As a film festival, we continue to secure international, national and State premiere screenings and some of Australia’s finest acting and film talent of feature films, short films and documentaries. Our program successes include the premieres of Red Dog, The Eye of the Storm, the French Australian co-production The Tree and the Australian Chinese co-productions 33 Postcards and The Dragon Pearl.
As an event, we offer an awe-inspiring range of opportunities to enjoy film and the people who bring film to us, in a range of beautiful locations,” she said.
The Festival’s diverse program and irresistible location makes it an attractive forum which encourages excellence in filmmaking amongst its filmmaking fraternity and brings its audiences the simple pleasure of well-made film.
