After a successful preliminary online programme regarded as extremely positive by the 20 up-and-coming European producers, European Film Promotion (EFP) will now be welcoming this year's EFP PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE participants on-site at the Festival de Cannes (16 - 27 May, 2023).
The networking and promotion platform provides a tailor-made programme for the participants, including one-on-one pitching sessions and case studies as well as ample opportunity to exchange experiences and find new co-production partners.
EFP is organising a case study in cooperation with Eurimages on Margarethe von Trotta's film Ingeborg Bachmann - Journey Into the Desert which celebrated its world premiere at this year's Berlinale. Katrin Renz (tellfilm, Switzerland), Alexander Dumreicher-Ivanceanu (AMOUR FOU, Austria), Bady Minck (AMOUR FOU, Luxembourg) and Bettina Brokemper (Heimatfilm, Germany) will discuss with Eurimages' Sergio Garcia de Leaniz about the possibilities and limits of the financing of European co-productions and how to successfully apply for funding. The case study will be moderated by Marjorie Bendeck, Director of Connecting Cottbus.
The 20 Producers on the Move will also discuss the balancing act as small and medium sized companies of moving into series production. They will be joined by Laurence Herszberg, Executive Director of Series Mania, and the former French Producer on the Move Didar Domehri of Maneki Films.
In addition, EFP will be hosting EUROPE! MEETS THE ARAB WORLD together with the Arab Cinema Center (ACC). 15 former Producers on the Move will meet with the top 15 producers from Arab countries, including producers from three festival titles, Four Daughters by Kaouther Ben Hania (Competition), Goodby Juila by Mohamed Kordofani (Un Certain Regard) and Inshallah A Boy by Amjad Al Rasheed (Semaine de la Critique).
Meet this year's PRODUCERS ON THE MOVE on Monday, 22 May from 17.30. For more information, please contact producers@efp-online.com.
