YomeddineIn an effort to showcase new talent in the field of film, Egyptian director A. B. Shawky will be showing his film Yomeddine tonight as one of the contestants of the festival, and it will be showing at the Grand Theatre Lumiere tonight at 18:30. Yomeddine is a dramatic comedy about a recently cured lepor named Beshay played by Rady Gamal who, after his wife disappears, treks across the Egyptian desert to discover his roots. Following him along this journey is a Nubian orphan he takes care of, and together they brave the unknown to find a new home. Yomeddine is also Shawky’s first feature-length movie and is based on real people he met with when working on his documentary “The Colony” which had won awards in several festivals.
