Martin Scorsese Masterclass in Cannes

Vicky Cristina Barcelona

Penelope Cruz fans were angered at the premiere of her new movie Vicky Christina Bobby. After some waited almost in hour in the rain, they were not even allowed to watch the Woody Allen directed feature with the cast in attendance. Upon entering the Grand Théâtre Lumière, attendees were directed up the stairs and right out the theatre! They were then taken to an adjacent theatre to see the movie. The funny thing is that not only were “regular” people ushered out, but also famous people like Star Jones and her model-looking crew.  On a positive side, the movie was actually really intriguing. Penelope Cruz definitely stole the show as the spicy vixen turned protagonist of the movie. Rebecca Hall also deserves more credit then she is getting as her character portrayal was extremely impressive. Not to be outdone, Javier Bardem and Scarlett Johansson were gave outstanding, sexy performances. Woody Allen, simply stated, is a genius. Here is a short synopsis of the movie from the Cannes website: The story is set in the sizzling Catalonian capital (Barcelona). Vicky and Cristina, two young Americans with different attitudes towards love, have come to spend the summer in the Spanish sunshine. They find themselves swept up in a surprising series of sexual adventures with a charismatic artist, Juan Antonio, who is still bound to his ex-wife, the impetuous Maria Elena.
