The 6th edition of the Producers Network’s seven-day program has just come to a close. “We registered, like previous years, about 600 producers from around the world,” announced Julie Bergeron, head of the Network.
Held in the Palais’s Ambassadeur Salon, the Network “welcomed about 200 people every morning at the breakfast meetings - 16 different tables including special guests and a moderator at each,” continued Bergeron.“This year we had a different regional focus each day: Brazil, the UK Australia, Belgium, Canada and Quebec, Norway and Colombia. The guests are high-profile executives from sales companies, distributors, specialty finance companies, notably studios from India, from the US, independent producers from Europe, etc… Also we had 4 sessions of speed dating and a daily happy hour from 5-7pm where they could meet in a friendly atmosphere.”
To participate, interested producers can register on the website (marchedufilm.com) as of mid-February and until April 11. The criteria requires that each one has produced at least one feature film within the last three years and that it was theatrically released.
Three years ago, “the Producers Network created another Network “hors les murs” at the Guadalajara Film Festival in Mexico and we worked a lot with Latin America,” elaborated Bergeron on partnerships. “We also have a strong link with the Atelier. Producers in the Atelier can also register to participate in the Network… And we also have a partnership with Producers on the Move, an initiative that was launched by Claudia Landsberger through the European Film Promotion, which celebrated its tenth anniversary this year.”
