KONG TRAILER UNLEASHED BY AQUAMEN ENTERTAINMENT
What: KONG trailer unleased during the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. Who: Aquamen Entertainment - producers Jeongjung Kim and Gary Zhang. Producers JJ Kim and Gary Zhang introduced the teaser trailer of the 40 million dollar 3D animated movie: KONG. It is an US-Korean-Chinese co-production.
Summary: Billions of years ago on primordial earth, born out of turbulent lava, Kong gets caught in the power struggle between two alien civilizations: One - a highly advanced synthetic-intelligent life form with a ruthless robotic army - seeks to drive the other - a group of determined refugees led by their Chief - to extinction. At stake is the possession of a sacred, limitless source of power and energy: the Hundun. As Kong develops feelings for the Chief's daughter, Kong's choice risks sacrificing himself and having to return to his birthplace, the earth's core, to become a living mountain.
KONG is based on the Asian tale of 'Sun Wukong' commonly called the Monkey King. Adapted from the classical Chinese novel, Journey To The West. The $40-million feature will be co-developed along with a major Korean animation studio and the backing of the Chinese Cultural Chamber of Commerce of the Private Sector.
Formed in 2013, the Chinese Cultural Chamber of Commerce for the Private Sector is a collection of hundreds of Asian companies.
