Festival Attracts Big Names Off the Screen

The Film Festival is not all about the screenings and the stars, but also how the ambiance changes within the city of Cannes. The weather is warmer, the streets are more lively, and the events are bigger. With the festival in town, a new season starts for local clubs that open up such as the Gotha Club all the way down the croissette to Palm Beach. Exclusive and pricey, but it also boasts some of the biggest names in the biggest industry coming to their venue. 

To kick off their festivites, every night names like Akon, Rick Ross, Jason DeRulo, Ne-Yo are coming which if you know even a little about music, these are some of the people played on the radio nonstop. Big names performing also means celebrities attending as well. It is a drastic movement from earlier in the colder months where little bars and pubs were the place to be, but now clubs like Baoli and Gotha are where everyone flocks to. 

Last night, rapper Busta Rhymes put on a show for his birthday and did not disappoint. Other acts will continue to stroll in such as Akon tonight (free entrance) that connects the world of film to the nightlife. However, if attending, be prepared to wait in line for a while and look the part as formal attire is required.
