Martin Scorsese Masterclass in Cannes

Cinema de la Plage 2009 Schedule

While the beach is chock full of sun bathers and sand castles by day, it is transformed into a unique cinema by night!  Lounge chairs are arranged in rows and viewers relax with their feet in the sand while watching a film on the large screen overlooking the ocean.

Last night's showing of Lawrence of Arabia was fairly well attended despite the impending rain as viewers came in and out durring the long film.  Free drinks and smoothies were also provided until 11.  Sweat shirts and blankets are advised as the evening chill sets in, but this event is definitely recommended if you're looking for a relaxing environment to watch a great film.  And its both free and open to all.
