Cannes 2016: DIVINES Caméra d’Or!
Houda Benyamina’s feature film – Groupe Ouest 2013 – co-written with Romain Compingt – is Cannes 2016 revelation
Divines, Houda Benyamina‘s feature film – co-written with Romain Compingt – has been presented in theDirectors’ Fortnight of the 69th Cannes Film Festival. On Sunday evening, during the prize-giving, the film won the Golden Camera, the prize the most desired in the world for the first feature films. Divines also obtained a special mention of the SACD (French Society of Dramatic Authors and Composers) during the closing ceremony of the Directors’ Fortnight, after a serie of standing ovations!
In 2013, Houda and Romain worked on their script within Groupe Ouest Yearly Selection programme,coached by Marcel Beaulieu, Yann Apperry and Julien Lilti, all of them consultants at Groupe Ouest. The film is produced by Marc-Benoît Créancier for Easy Tiger.
It is a real pride for Groupe Ouest to have accompanied this exceptional adventure!
