"The Cannes Film Festival is unlike any event in the film world. With 11,000 participants, over a dozen film screenings, and multiple evening activities in a two-week period, the Festival relies on a network of efficient, well-organized crews to run the myriad of events that occur during its short time frame.  As an intern at the Cannes Film Festival, I will contribute my organized, driven work ethic and my past experience with the State Treasurer’s Office of South Carolina to ensure another successful year for the Cannes Film Festival.

     Over the past year, I interned in the Administration Department for the State Treasurer of South Carolina. From being the main Administration contact for the county auditors and treasurers to interviewing internship candidates, my various duties expanded my communication and critical thinking skills. Outside of working with constituents and office employees, I was a part of the event planning committee for interoffice events, such as the winter holiday celebration and the monthly birthday parties. These events would consist of 80 or more participants, and involved activities like catering, raffles, and group gift exchanges. Through my administration work, I dealt with confidential information, ranging medical documentation to onboarding paperwork.

     With my past internship experience, I have learned how to work in a high stakes environment where presentation is key. Communicating with constituents and vendors is a skill that I have developed over my tenure at the South Carolina’s State Treasurer’s Office. In addition, I know what goes into the planning, set up, running, and take down of an event. Participating in an internship during the Cannes Film Festival, my skills will maximize the efficiency and organization of the events I participate in."
