20th film in Cannes competition

The Artist, directed by Michel HAZANAVICIUS, is joining the Official Competition, now composed of 20 feature films.
It is "OSS 117" director Hazanavicius's latest film - a French production in English language - starring John Goodman, Jean Dujardin, Berenice Bejo, Missi Pyle and James Cromwell. The film was previously announced as screening out of competition, but Cannes programmers made the switch today. The black and white silent film tells the rise of a young actress at the start of cinema "talkies".
Un Certain Regard
Elena, directed by Andrey ZVYAGINTSEV, will be screened on Saturday, May 21st, at the Closing ceremony of Un Certain Regard.
