Jointly launched by the European Institute of Ecology (IEE) in Metz and the Association  Ecrans des Mondes in Paris (AEM), CINEMATERRE, second edition of our festival, offers the audiences of the Eastern Euroregion, once a year, a collection of compelling films dealing with the ecological transition i.e; the relationships between Men, Society and Nature. A special emphasis will be given in this regard to the dialogue between different cultures and civilizations of our planet.
It will be an international competition of recent, meaningful films of all genres and formats: - creative documentaries, fiction, animation- -short, medium, long-. with a special category "Youtue", all having as common issue Environment, Nature and sustainable living together. The objectif: Inform, entertain, educate, move, inspire and, who knows, save the world! Pre-selected by a committee of scientists, filmmakers and citizens from the Euroregion - France - Germany - Belgium - Luxembourg, the films of the official competition will be appreciated by an international jury chaired by a renowned personality.

The entry will be free for young people.

Supported by town of Metz, the Metropolis and the Region, as well as by numerous personalities from the scientific, socio-economic and media networks of Eastern France, the Festival is a potential partner of local and regional enterprises, administrations and cultural institutions. In addition, the local civil society and social media nurture authentic, dedicated partnerships.
Proud to focus on the sustainable and creative values of the ecological transition and to participate in a humanist cause dedicated to sustainable living together, the Festival appeals to the professional community (Authors, directors, producers, associations, cooperatives…..) to submit their films as soon as possible. Applications and Festival regulations are available here-after.
The Festival also appeals to businesses and sponsors. Their financial commitments, promoted within all communication of the Festival will contribute to the strength and impact of their image. Since we know that the ecological awareness of the general public continues to grow, it is likely that all the benefits of the Festival will shine through its partners and sponsors.

The Festival, without neglecting its roots in the Euroregion, will seek to partner across the globe with other festivals dedicated to the ecological transition. It is through this emphasis that we want to reiterate our attachment to the universality of the philosophy of Ecology when associated with the 7th Art. The festival will strongly reflect today’s reconnection of the human being with Nature and
the planet Earth!
