Top Grossing Films of 2020
2020 has been a very difficult for many and if not all industries due to the global pandemic and Covid-19 ripping apart any plans or targets that the world has. The film industry isn’t excluded from that either, in fact with all movie theatres being shut due to lockdown restrictions and unable to social distance in them so like the rest of the world, the film industry has seen a drop off in grossing films. Today we look at some of the top grossing films of 2020 in which has been a difficult year but since seen some big numbers regardless.
The number one grossing film of the year, and quite unsurprisingly, is Bad Boys for Life featuring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence – the highest grossing film in the Bad Boys trilogy, grossing a total of $204.4million against a budget of $90million. Released in on 17th January, the show sold 22,438,842 tickets globally and topped off a very entertaining franchise of films.

Next film on the top grossing films of 2020 was actually released 25th December 2019, however carried most of its revenue into 2020 with it; the blockbuster 1917 starring Dean-Charles Chapman and George MacKay. Promised to be a huge film before release, documenting the height of the First World War in a gripping and intense fashion. Grossing a total of $159.2million against a similar budget to Bad Boys of $90million.
