First revealed to audiences worldwide by Spike Jonze in a video showcasing his outstanding collaboration with classical cellist Yo-Yo Ma, Lil’ Buck combines the style of Memphis street dance with the rigor of classical ballet. Moving with ease from a Super Bowl Halftime show with Madonna to star soloist ballet with JR or Benjamin Millepied, the “King of Jookin” has gained international recognition.
In the ghetto where Lil'Buck grew up, what goes around comes around. Now, bringing his experience in the ballet world with him, Lil' Buck is heading back to South Memphis to teach dance to the youth, offering them the chance of a better future.
