Three kosovan films will be screened at EFM 2017

'Agron was long considered dead. His army buddies saw him die during the Kosovo conflict, and thus his return home is beyond surprising. Joy, however, soon shifts to a consideration of practical problems, and the man is forced by a variety of circumstances to remain dead – at least officially. His home thus becomes the backdrop for a portrayal of the myriad problems facing postwar society.'
ROOFTOP STORY by Gazmend Nela will be screened on Feb. 12th Sunday - 17:15 - Marriott Studio
'Two lonely souls Lumi and Yllka they met in the rooftop of city building in Prishtina. Lumi wants to kill all the crows of the city; he blames them for the loss of his family in the car accident. Yllka a young girl is in the quest of finding her adopted son, which she gave it for adaptation from his birth five years ago. They make a deal to help each other, Lumi killing crows and Yllka kidnap her son.'
A debut film UNWANTED by Edon Rizvanolli will be screened on Feb. 13th Monday - 12:10 - Marriott Studio
'A lonely teenage boy, who lives in Amsterdam with his refugee mother from Kosovo, keeps getting into trouble while yearning for her acceptance. But the traumas caused by the war, which his mother initially hides away from him, turn his world upside down.'
HOME by Daniel Mulloy nominated for BAFTA
HOME, a short film written and directed by award winning director Daniel Mulloy and starring Jack O'Connell and Holliday Grainger, is a UK / Kosovo co-production that has been nominated for the Best British Short at this years British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA).
The film, initially released on World Refugee Day, is a 20-minute short focused on themes of war and migration, that looks to bring the refugee crisis one-step closer to home for those living outside its reach. This intimate, thought-provoking short used its absurd premise and shifting dynamics to connect its audience deeply with the plight of the many migrant families around the world, currently fleeing war zones in search of a safer life.
The film's message of empathy is particularly poignant at this time. HOME is produced by Dokufest, Black Sheep Studios and Somesuch.
Kosovan producers are attending Rotterdam Lab
As KCC and Rotterdam Lab have established a partnership, Kosovo will be present with two producers at the Rotterdam Lab.
Yll Uka with the film project ‘Hive’ and Casey Cooper Johnson with the film project ‘Zana’ are part of the Rotterdam Lab together with 55 other promising emerging producers from 25 countries. KCC is very interested to continue this cooperation platform in order to develop the kosovan film industry and moreover, in December, KCC and three kosovan producers were part of the Coproduction Market in Festival de Cinema Europeen des Arcs.
