‘THE MINE’ to feature @ EFM

THE MINE, a pacey probing story with heavy topical relevance, is set for its market premiere at this year’s EFM. The film has a stellar Finnish cast and is beautifully shot in the exotic north of Finland. THE MINE is also selected for the Dragon Awards Competition in Gothenburg.

THE MINE, an environmental drama-thriller, tells the story of Jussi, who new at his work, is put in charge of overseeing the environmental permissions for Finland’s biggest mine, Talvivaara. Pekka the CEO and owner of the mine is trying out new methods and cutting corners in order to keep the construction of the mine on schedule and the financing together. Jussi starts suspecting that the mine is not being run as it should be, but his boss urges him to get the permissions in order. Soon we are facing the biggest environmental catastrophe in Scandinavia.
