Samantha, fresh out of med school, takes up a volunteer position in Nigeria, and has her Western preconceptions shattered by what she encounters. With the aid of an educated tribal chief, Samantha attempts to drag this small corner of the world into the modern era.

Road to redemption follows an American doctor, the daughter of a United Sates Senator, on her journey as she volunteers to help the people suffering from the fistula problem in the rural villages of Nigeria.

Inspired by her experiences and the love she feels for the people and the country, she becomes an advocate for those who are suffering. Together, with the support of the female activists in Nigeria, they fight for the eradication of early marriage.
