Take a journey through ‘Texture’ with this year’s finalists. For the past four years, amateur and professional photographers have submitted their stunning, epic and intimate images, responding to a specific theme. The finalists, and the prize winners for each category, were chosen by a panel of professional photographers, artists, media teachers and industry professionals. Entries were submitted in the five categories of Lower Primary (Years F–3), Upper Primary (Years 4–6), Lower Secondary (Years 7–9), Upper Secondary (Years 10–12) and Open. The ATOM Photo Comp is an initiative of Australian Teachers of Media (ATOM) in partnership with Ted’s Cameras. It provides photographers across Australia and New Zealand with the opportunity to submit a folio of three photographs with an accompanying artist statement. The winners of each of the five age-group categories will recieve Ted’s Cameras gift vouchers valued at $500 for the primary categories, $1000 for the secondary categories and $2000 for Open. Student category winners will be announced at the 2019 SAE ATOM Awards Student Awards Presentation at SAE Creative Media Institute in Melbourne on Wednesday 13 November.
