The director of SHOELACES, Jacob Goldwasser responded:
I am deeply moved. This is the response I was hoping for with this film. I'm so glad that
audiences are engaging with SHOELACES, and taking the chance to look
straight into the eyes of the people with intellectual disabilities and to
find out their inner qualities and beauty.

Fighting for Authentic Representation in Hollywood

All Inclusive

As you know, 20% of people have a disability, but less than 5% of actors on screen are people with disabilities. To increase the pressure on the industry, we want to widely disseminate our most recent podcast about authentic representation. In this episode, Jay is joined by actor, comedian, and activist for the disability rights movement, Danny Woodburn. Together they shed a light on the systematic exclusion of actors with disabilities, and how we can all drive the change we wish to see.
