Congratulations to the HIFF39 AUDIENCE AWARD Winners presented by Hawaii News Now. The audience ballots have been tabulated and here the 2019 Festival winners, according to HIFF's audiences in attendance:
BEST NARRATIVE FEATURE: YELLOW ROSE directed by Diane Paragas
An undocumented Filipina dreams of leaving her Texas town to pursue country music, but, this changes when her mom is suddenly captured by ICE agents. Terrified, she flees to Austin and embarks on a musical journey of self-discovery.

The 39th Hawai‘i International Film Festival presented by Halekulani may be over on Oahu but it continues onward on the neighbor islands—Maui, Kauai and the Big Island of Hawai‘i—from November 21 through 24! Fest favorites like PARASITE, YELLOW ROSE, MAUNA KEA: THROUGH THE KIA‘I LENS, THE AUSTRALIAN DREAM and BLOOD QUANTUM will be screening this weekend.
