Winners and Special Mentions!

Last week, the 10th annual Amsterdam Lift-Off Film Festival took place in the vibrant and exciting LAB 111. Audiences were invited to explore compelling work from the Network and beyond, meet with industry professionals, and make connections that will last through their filmmaking careers.

At each of our Lift-Off Film Festivals, we ask that audiences fill out scorecards following each film screening. These scores have been counted to determine which films were received and hence determine our winners and special mentions. The filmmakers will now be sent back their respective scorecards to see what non-bias film-enthusiasts thought of their work!

TRIBE OF GHOSTS, a documentary that takes place within a government-run shelter where we see children with albinism live alongside children with visual and auditory problems, Dir. Almicheal Fraay picks up Best Short Doc winning a screening at London Lift-Off Film Festival this December.

ON AIR, a film in which a radio host receives an unexpected phone call that doesn't turn into a pleasant conversation, Dir. Bastiaan Rook is awarded Best Local Film with a screening at Sydney Lift-Off Film Festival this November.

In addition, a Special Mention has been awarded to THE MERMAID OF MEVAGISSEY dir. Luc Mollinger which will be screening at London Lift-Off Film Festival this December.

Two Season Award nominations have also been awarded, one to GUEST ARTIST for Best Feature Live Action Narrative and to ONE, NO ONE, 100.000 for Best Art Direction.
