The 23rd Israel Film Festival (IFF) in New York celebrating Israel's 60th Anniversary presented by IsraFest Foundation premiere sold out 2nd screening of THE SECRETS, co-written/directed by Avi Nesher, was held at the Clearview Cinemas, Sunday, November 2, 2008, 5:15 PM. THE SECRETS premieres in selected theaters Thanksgiving weekend and opens theatrically Friday, December 12th. An exclusive Q&A with filmmaker Avi Nesher was held at the Clearview Cinemas, Sunday, November 2nd. 

ME: What inspired the making of the feature film THE SECRETS?

AN: I have met some of the young women that attend seminary and heard tremendously interesting and passionate stories. It's really a great subject matter, the whole notion of collision between religion and the modern world; religion and sexuality, discovering who you are.  I wrote the film with an orthodox woman a great playwright who knows a lot about the subject matter.
