A Tribute to Mexico’s Eternal Sweetheart Angélica María

The 2nd Hola Mexico Film Festival 2009 (HMFF09) Tribute to the legendary actress/singer-songwriter Angélica María sponsored by The Mexican Cultural Institute of New York was held at the Quad Cinema, New York, Thursday, June 25, 6:30 pm. Ambassador Rubén Beltrán, Consul General of Mexico in New York, presented Angélica María with the Recognition of Achievement award. A
special presentation screenings of "Cinco de Chocolate," directed by Carlos Velo and "La Verdadera Vocacion de Magdalena," directed by Jaime Humberto Hermosillo and Q&A session with filmmaker Hermosillo immediately followed. A special lecture and message reading by writer Jose Agustin and Luis Zapata preceded the film presentation.
