2012 Tribeca Film Festival Circuit Coverage

The 11th Annual 2012 Tribeca Film Festival (TFF 2012) presented by founding partner American Express commenced April 18 - 29, 2012 in New York. This year’s festival showcased 106 features, 60 shorts, and 88 premieres including panel discussions, special events, online screenings, real time video streaming, free events (Tribeca Drive-In, Family Festival Street Fair, Tribeca/ESPN Sports Day, Tribeca Soccer Day), filmmakers, and industry parties. The opening and closing night red carpet premieres were The Five-Year Engagement, directed by Nicholas Stoller and The Avengers, directed by Joss Whedon.

TFF 2012 Opening Day Press Conference Breakfast announced the festival’s new programming on Wednesday, April 18. The new team include artistic director Frederic Boyer, director of programming Genna Terranova, Tribeca Enterprises chief creative officer Geoff Gilmore, programmer Cara Cusumano, shorts programmer Ben Thompson, assistant programmer Liza Domnitz, and executive director Nancy Schafer. TFF 2012 Filmmakers Welcome Party hosted by Apple, Inc., commenced Thursday, April 19, 9:00 PM at Apple, NYC.

TFI 2012 (Tribeca Film Institute) Latin America Media Arts Fund Awards sponsored by Heineken commenced Saturday, April 21, 7:00 PM at Tenjune, New York. TFI Latin America Media Arts Fund acknowledge and support emerging filmmakers of Latin American descent focused on Latino perspectives in the U.S.

TFF 2012 Press Meet & Greet networking events with filmmakers (documentary, shorts, narrative) was held during the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival at the Cadillac Tribeca Press Lounge, TFF Filmmaker/Industry Lounge, and the Bombay Sapphire House of Imagination, NYC.
