Relatos Salvajes crashes box office in Argentina

Relatos Salvajes (Wild Tales), reached 1.108.804 spectators within 2 weeks from its release becoming one the biggest opening in Argentina.

Relatos Salvajes (Wild Tales) is a 2014 Hispano-Argentine black comedy-drama film written and directed by Damián Szifrón and starring an ensemble cast consisting of Ricardo Darín, Óscar Martínez, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Érica Rivas, Rita Cortese, Julieta Zylberberg and Darío Grandinetti. Featuring six different and unconnected stories, Relatos Salvajes (Wild Tales) focuses on people's busting reactions to borderline situations through a lens tainted by black humor and a taste for physical violence.

Produced by El Deseo (Agustín and Pedro Almodóvar), Relatos Salvajes (Wild Tales) competed in the Official Selection in Cannes Film Festival where it got very good reviews:

Wild Tales is a wickedly delightful compendium of six standalone shorts united by a theme of vengeance — the kind that explodes in spectacular bursts after a put-upon soul is screwed over too many times. While not all the episodes are equally successful, and most are variations on formulas seen elsewhere, the overall enjoyment rarely flags. - Variety

The first three episodes, Pasternak, The Rats and Road to Hell, all generate huge laughs and share a delicious harmony despite being quite different in tone. They run from wacky to macabre to pulpy, and all involve payback fueled by festering rage. – Holywood Reporter

Relatos Salvajes (Wild Tales) will be exhibited at Toronto Film Festival next week and it´s also included at the Zabaltegi selection of the 62nd San Sebastian Film Festival
