48 Go Green

48 Go Green is an ecological short film festival. Over the weekend of December 14-16, teams from all around the world work to create a short (4-7 minute) film to compete for the Grand Prize! This is a weekend you'll remember for the rest of your lifetime!

Grand Prize is $10,000 of cash and prizes! Runners-up and People's Choice Awards also get generous prizes. See for more details!

There is ONE LAST CHANCE in 2012 for anyone with online access in cities and towns around the world to participate. There is only one more event for 2012! Group C will Kick-Off on Friday, December 14.

Team Leaders must have access to a computer on the official starting date. At 7 PM your local time, all teams in your time zone will be sent an email with their assignment. Each team will receive a randomly generated Eco Theme, as well as the required elements for the film. From there on, your imagination is the limit! For the next 48 hours, the planet will be transformed into a world-wide movie set.

The production/creation of the film includes the following:

  • Script writing
  • Directing
  • Costume design and creation
  • Props and set design and building
  • Shooting
  • Editing
  • Sound recording
  • Processing
  • Production

If that sounds like a whirlwind of activity, that's because it is! All shooting must be done within the official 48 hours of the festival’s competition.

The only work that can begin before the official duration of the 48 Go Green Festival is the pre-production phase:

  • Organizing your team
  • Casting your actors
  • Procuring equipment
  • Securing use of locations

To be certified as an official entry of the 48 Go Green Festival, each participating team must comply with all existing rules and regulations, found here. The organizers of the Festival maintain the right to exclusively screen certified 48 Go Green Festival official entries.

All Official Entries of the 48 Go Green Festival 2012 can compete for the title of “GLOBAL BEST FILM OF 48 GO GREEN 2012.
