Get up to $50,000 for you next film by judging scripts.
There is a new funding model that builds a community, improves your work through feedback, and, if you are good enough will fund your next film up to $50,000.
Writers judge filmmakers, filmmakers judge scripts. Winning filmmaker shoots one of the top 10 scripts. We fund it with the entry fees.
Writers want the best filmmaker because they want them to shoot their script if it wins. Filmmakers want the best scripts, because the...
As screenwriters, we wanted our scripts bought and made. But, we don't know any producers, so you stop writing and start directing and producing your own films.
Of course, the problem is always funding. You need a lot of money to shoot a short, let alone a feature. Well, we also had a problem with the idea of a select few judges deciding if you are going to make it 'in' to a festival.
So we decided to make a festival where the community decides what is good and what to fund!
It...

FFFilm Project (Family Fiction Film Project) is a cycle of video and film, which explores several possibilities around the topic of family/familiar: documentary or fiction movies about the intimate, the personal or private, family footage, home movies, self-portraits / about identities, family as a landscape, alternative families, etc. In the era of the democratization of the use of image the objects produced are increasingly on the intimacy and in the precariousness of the production resources. There is a new way to make films and to tell stories. Public and private or global and local, stand in a constant transformation in their inter-connection at the same they have a tremendous impact on the way of producing, creating and living. We believe that at this moment, this kind of cycle is full of sense; it will be a moment for sharing ways of doing and perspectives which concerns are to do with fragility, intimacy and precarity. This cycle is open both to amateur and professional videos.

The Abortion Care Network welcomes submissions to its first Video Competition, entitled, “Really…?! Abortion Stigma-Busting Video Competition.” Stigma is a key strategy of anti-abortion extremists who want to shame women into silence about abortion. When women feel they can’t speak up for their rights, conservative legislators can pass laws that close clinics and make barriers for women. It is urgent that we create cultural pushback against those who would try to stigmatize us.
Video submissions must be under three minutes and under 100 MB and may be humorous, satirical, activist, or about a first person experience. Very short videos using Vine or Instagram or other smart phone applications will also be eligible for entry. Registration form at this address: http://events.constantcontact.com/register/event?llr=rrbrm5cab&oeidk=a07e880uqfe81765aa0
Author and filmmaker Jennifer Baumgardner will judge the competition. Winning entries will be awarded a cash prize of $100 for each of three entrants, with matching donations to the Abortion Fund of your choice. (See www.fundabortionnow.org) There will also be three Honorable Mentions awarded without a cash prize.

The Chicago Underground Film Festival exists to showcase the defiantly independent filmmaker. Our mission is to promote films and videos that dissent radically in form, technique, or content from the “indie” mainstream and to present adventurous works that challenge and transcend commercial and audience expectations…if you suspect your film is “underground,” it probably is.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
A completed entry form and an entry fee must accompany each film or video submitted.
Preview copies must be NTSC DVD or Blu-Ray or a secure online screener (withoutabox, Vimeo etc). Foreign language work must be dubbed or subtitled in English. Please, do not send elaborate presentation materials, press kits, binders, etc. with your entry. All that is necessary to send is a clearly identified DVD and, if you like, a synopsis or contextual statement about your work. These are the only items that the programmers will see when they evaluate your submission. We don’t want you to pay for unnecessary materials, and they generate lots of waste. If your film is selected for the festival we will contact you about images and press kits. or better yet: put these materials online and type the URL into your entry form.
ENTRY FEES
Entry fees must be in U.S. funds only. Pay through Withoutabox or with this form through Paypal, check or money order. Checks and money orders should be made out to IFP Chicago (DO NOT make checks out to Chicago Underground Film Festival ).
ENTRY FEE EXCEPTIONS
Entry Fees are not required from filmmakers who have screened at CUFF in the past. If you are working in a part of the world where an entry fee would prohibit you from submitting your film, contact us at info@cuff.org to request a fee waiver. Please understand that we rely on entry fees for the operation of the festival and only request waivers when necessary.
SHIPPING
Cost of shipping exhibition prints to the festival is the responsibility of the entrant. Exhibition copies must be sent to the festival prepaid. All film reels, cans, videotapes and cases must be labeled with the title of the entry. The festival will cover return shipping via FedEx or US Mail. The entrant or the recipient must pay additional charges for express shipping or transshipments to foreign film festivals. The festival cannot accept responsibility for damage or loss of materials while in transit. Please use only plastic or bubble pack envelopes when shipping entries.

If accepted, the print of your film or presentation video will need to be in our office by March 1, 2014. Be sure to indicate aspect ratio of your film/video as well as any other special screening/presentation information we might need to know.
