I picked up my press pass for the 20th Anniversary Philadelphia Film Festival tonight!
Just to get you in the festival mood, here's the films I plan to see
the first few days (Thursday, October 20th thru Sunday October 23rd). Of
course, the festival runs till November 3rd, and I plan to be present
throughout most of it; however, during the festival, I'll be posting on

Martha Marcy May Marlene - Sean Durkin & Elizabeth Olsen Q & A
Have you heard about Martha Marcy May Marlene?
It's been a darling of this year's festival circuit - The title gives
the impression four women share top billing, but in actuality newcomer Elizabeth Olsen (cast only two weeks before shooting), is not only the subject of the multiple monikers, she hauntingly carries the full weight of this dark drama; along with some good, creepy ass...
Jerry: ...Over the balcony, bounced off some respirator thing into the patient!
George: What do you mean "into the patient"?
Jerry: Into the patient, literally!
George: Into the hole?
Jerry: Yes, the hole!
George: Didn't they notice it?

When she becomes pregnant his wife and mother-in-law conspire to get rid of her. The set production of their mansion is awesome, look...

Not only was Friday night’s screening of Night Catches Us sold out, but attracted a cool, racial mix of peeps. This Centerpiece screening included a Q & A with writer/director Tanya Hamilton and lead Kerry Washington who looked really chic in her Costello burnt orange dress. Washington was drawn to the film not only because of it’s strong writing, but also the opportunity to humanize an important time period in our history,...
216 screenings, 11 screens, 6 venues, 10 days! So many great films
to see, so many synopsis to read, not to mention industry panels and
parties; this is the great thing about film festivals, the bad part –
there’s no way to see and do it all.
Here’s my tentative list of films I plan to see during the 19th Philadelphia Film Festival (Oct 14-24). I also hope to blog quick, on the spot film reviews by attendees after screenings, so look for me during the festival.
