Together they explore their struggles, doubts, hopes and demons or as Jon's friend Scott Biram puts it: „We can rejoice in one another's sharing of pain!“ The Folk Singer juxtaposes raw human emotion, slapstick humour and wild American roots Music. The film features today's acclaimed fringe roots artists Possessed by Paul James, Scott Biram, Reverend Deadeye, Tom VandenAvond, Drew Landry and Ghostwriter.

They find innovative and hilarious ways to surf in places like Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska, and demolish long-standing myths, not to mention surfboards, their old ice cream truck touring vehicle, and nearly themselves as well, as they journey across the country introducing surfing to astonished locals who have never seen a surfboard or surfers in their lives. In this enjoyable film for the whole family, their infectious enthusiasm and humor inspires folks of all ages and ethnicities to get out and explore the world in their own unique and fun way. The boys demonstrate that you can make your own fun anywhere you go, even surfing where there are no waves.
