Hollywood Divine International Film Festival

The Hollywood Divine International Film Festival is dedicated to enriching the community and bridging cultures through the spirituality, education and promotion of the arts through independent film.

We, at Hollywood Divine, with the help of our heavenly father, want to make a big change and we are hoping you can help us with that.

There are many Christian artists out there looking for an outlet to spread the light of God through their God given gift of artistry. There are also many Christian people out there looking to appreciate art that celebrates their relationship with Christ.

We at Hollywood Divine want to be the catalyst for that change. A change that will, at least, balance out the darkness spread by mainstream Hollywood and the music industry, and give independent Christian filmmakers and musicians the chance to build their ministries by displaying their art to the world.

We believe that creating art, in any form, is a reflection of the ultimate creator. It’s one of the best ways to praise God and share his infinite love with the world. We ask you to please consider joining us on this journey.

Not Another Screenplay Competition!

Juggling a chainsaw, a kitten and a 25lb weight

#
Starting a festival is like juggling....a chainsaw, a kitten and a 25lb weight. It takes more than dexterity. I takes more than agility. It takes endurance and determination and unbelievable focus. The goal: everyone must have a great experience at the Queens World Film Festival. Period. Keep an eye on us. Keep telling stories....and making them move. ...

A story about a fish. Let it be a lesson to you.

user
A couple of years ago my parents, like a lot of elderly people, suddenly took to cruises. And in order to share their new-found love, they insisted that my wife and I join them on one. My wife and I, just so you know, are more accustomed to kayaking the headwaters of the Amazon than standing in line at the floating buffet, so when we got an opportunity to take part in one of the "activities", we jumped. We went snorkeling. ...

If you're not familiar with pdnonline.com, now would be a great time to check it out. Why? Well, they're the go-to resource for a ton of really talented photographers I'm honored to be among. But more important, they wrote a nice article about me. Please check it out. The article. When is a boondoggle not a boondoggle?

user
A lot of people in the advertising business think of a boondoggle the way the Supreme Court thinks of porn –– they can't define it, but they know it when they see it. I don't think it's that hard to draw the line. It all comes down to responsibility. If you're doing something you honestly intend to help your client, you're not engaging in boondogglery. If you're doing something for your own personal gratification at the expense of your client, you are. Take me, for exam...

First time Director

user
Well this is my first time directing a film and first time writting a script. I didn't want to be another Actor who did this like so many befor me but I thought about it and thought why not I guess if I write something that means something to me it couldn't be all that bad. So here we are in the first stages of pre-production and I realized this is not as easy as one would think. See as an Actor I learn my lines and give life to the script through my interpitation. I guess I ne...

Making Documentary Films / Movies

user
Making documentary films is a challenging and rewarding career path. Too many documentary filmmakers fall into the trap of creating the ‘talking heads’ documentary where they simply interview people against interesting or artistic backdrops. However, this form of documentary filmmaking leaves a lot to be desired. The bottom line is that ‘talking heads’ are boring to watch. If people are just going to speak about their experiences, then an account of the situation in written format woul...
