Benicio Del Toro
I opened my weekend with a bold and experimental visual experience provided by none other than Wes Anderson. "The French Dispatch" may have been met with inconsistent critical reviews during itss festival run, but don't let that fool you. The film is a 1 hour and 48 minute indulgence of everything we've come to love about Wes Anderson's cinematic style. From shifting color grades that go from color to black and white at the flick of a switch, to the classic Wes Anderson a...
Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Review: Adorable Dora, the explora
Dora is shown first as a six-year old, living in the forest with her explorer parents, and then as a sixteen year-old, studying in high school. That is highly appropriate, because Dora and the Lost City of Gold has something for all those who are in the age-group of 6-16, and some more for the older folks, who have seen 17 or more summers. The film is largely driven by the actress playing Dora, who is simply scintillating.

Sicario 2-Day of the Soldado, Review: Benicio and Josh raise the' False Flag' and kill at will
‘Soldado’ is Spanish for a soldier who fights for a cause. ‘Sicario’ was the name of those who resisted Roman colonial invaders, and that in Mexico, it means ‘hit-man’. And in Sicario (2): Day of the Soldado, the twain meet. The movie is not too different from Sicario (1), but different enough to hold its own. Overall, it is just a notch below its predeces...
Star Wars-The Last Jedi, Review: The Lost Jedi
George Lucas maintains that his Star Wars films were for kids. Back in the late 70s, when the trade-mark skewed angle intro rolling text greeted us as the film began, I was not a kid. Maybe the sensibilities of an Indian film-goer at 25 were akin to the school-kids in the West, but I loved what I saw. Since, I have seen most, if not all, the core movies and the spin-offs/anthologies, most of them likeable, but the 40th anniversary release saw me ...
Sicario, Review: One drug cartel is better than two
Breath-taking aerial shots of the US-Mexico border area and amazingly choreographed encounter scenes are the highlight of Sicario, a drug cartel crime thriller about an FBI-CIA joint operation that does on land what the US army and air-force have been doing in foreign countries for decades: seek, find and eliminate the enemy. Every player has questionable motives, except a couple of conscientious FBI operatives, and even they eventually fall...
Today saw the presentation of the 63rd San Sebastian Festival, to take place from September 18 to 26. Its Director, José Luis Rebordinos, and two members of the Management Committee, Maialen Beloki and Joxean Fernández, announced its contents, the composition of certain juries and the names of those who will attend this new edition.

Benicio Del Toro attends red carpet movie premier; Event Cinemas, Sydney, Australia...
Savages enjoyed its red carpet premiere in Sydney, Australia tonight.
Savages star Benicio Del Toro told media agency AAP that meeting real ex-drug cartel members was a similar feeling to climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
"You go in strapped and you go in protected in some ways but you don't want to get too goofy or something like that, ...
