Martin Scorsese Masterclass in Cannes services and offers

Geography of the United Kingdom

Director: Daniel Zinkant.
Dan is young and dreams of love. In this beautifully made short on gay love we are let into his world, experiencing the beauty he sees and so desires. Flicking between two worlds of fantasy and real-life, we feel his pain of unrequited love. As the narrative comes to an end we watch the three friends disperse, and Dave is left alone- his love unknown, unsaid and only known by him and us. Beloved was made through our First Light Studio Award. A group of 15-19 year-olds worked together to produce the film which was written by a young person.

once upon a time

Director: Cyrena Dunbar.
"once upon a time" is a non-narrative art film. In conjunction with the open call for art projects at the B:east Temporary Art and culture project put together in Nuremberg in 2011, the concept of this short emerged. As a way to capture the amazing off-space where the exhibition was to take place before it was injected with installations left, right, and center, Cyrena Dunbar created a skeletal structure for a multi-colored and unexpected Film project, intentionally leaning toward an unexpected result. The concept being to not tell a story, and do so with approximately 100 simple objects, the space itself, and the human figure. Nothing being forced, each object receives one exercise which is not necessarily connected to it's common use, and shot in singular takes in different areas and settings. It is purely based on the action and reaction of each human-object duet, a process with no future. Only the output, resulting in a magnifying game for eyes and ears, can continue to live on, and makes one see common things in a different light.

Mariam's Amazing Race to Cannes and back to Cambodia: Day 14

The drapes in my room were thick tapestries. I awoke in the morning, but couldn't tell the time, so I dozed off back to sleep. Around 8:30am I finally got up. Almost instantly, Chris, my host, had a hot breakfast prepared. An egg, potatoes, bacon (of course, they raise pigs), tomatoes, and toast, all served with Brown Sauce (like A1) and homemade rhubarb/ginger jam. I checked my email and showered; then Chris was extra-kind enough to take me into town. We drove by Sorbie Tower (built by my a...
