Matthew Montgomery, another recipient of the Artistic Achievement Award for Acting, is without a doubt the unspoken superstar of American independent gay cinema. Proving his worth, Montgomery stars in Role/Play and Flight of the Cardinal, two films at this year's festival, and will be honored at the screening of Role/Play Saturday July 10th, 7:15pm, at the Ritz East Theater 1.

Kathy Wolfe: The Barbara Gittings Award

This year's Barbara Gittings Award recipient is Kathy Wolfe, who created a ground-breaking and respected company, Wolfe Video where she is the CEO. Realizing that there was a largely untapped audience of lesbians and gay men eager for affirmative images, in 1985, she founded Wolfe Video. What began, as a small mail order company twenty-five years ago, is now, the oldest and largest exclusive distributor of gay and lesbian films in North America. Ms. Wolfe will be receiving this award before a screening on My Normal, on Saturday, July 10th, at 4:45 pm at the Ritz East 2. This award is presented in cooperation with the Equality Forum.
