On Saturday 7 August, Locarno's Piazza Grande will stage the European premiere of Cyrus by Jay and Mark Duplass (The Puffy Chair, Baghead).
This comedy about love and family set in contemporary Los Angeles stars John C. Reilly, Jonah Hill, Marisa Tomei and Catherine Keener, and is produced by Michael Costigan and executive produced by Tony and Ridley Scott. The Piazza Grande screening will be attended by John C. Reilly and the filmmakers.
The 63rd Locarno Festival will also pay special tribute to John C. Reilly, who has showcased his talent in films by Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, Magnolia), Martin Scorsese (The Aviator, Gangs of New York) and in Judd Apatow's productions (Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, Step Brothers).
The Piazza Grande will also feature a presentation of the first few images of The Invisible Boy, a feature-film project by French artist Philippe Parreno accompanied by a selection of his short films and a screening of his film Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait, a feature film produced in collaboration with Douglas Gordon (2006).
The 63rd edition of the Festival del film Locarno will take place 4 - 14 August, 2010.
The official line-up will be announced on 14 July.
