If you have any interest in Japanese films, make your way to the Japan Booth in the Palais where you can make an appointment to view their extensive DVD library as their booth is a host to many Japanese sales companies. According to the "Cannes Market News," this year Japan is focusing on networking and promoting the 23rd Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) of which the Chairman Tom Yoda, and the Programming Co-Directors Yoshi Yatabe and Kenji Ishizaka are here in Cannes. They are promoting its expansion in order to become more of an international event this year. TIFF is known for its Green Carpet, which they use to represent their desire to find solutions for global ecological problems.
Stop by their Pavilion (141 in the International Village) for their Happy Sake Hour on 15 May from 3pm to 6pm for snacks and sake (no invitation needed, open to all) or their booth on 17 May for Japanese Cocktails from 6pm to 8pm to network and learn more.
