Filmmaker, president and founder of the AGON International Archaeological FILM FESTIVAL, Memi Spyratou and Dimitris Komninos, artistic director of the urban non-profit organization “ODYSSEY - CULTURAL EVENTS” in collaboration with the “GREEK FILM ARCHIVE” as well as the Hellenic National Committee of the “INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF MUSEUMS” (ICOM), are initiating the 11th AGON- International Archaeological Film Festival, under the general thematic title "Ecumenical Community".
The festival is sponsored by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.
The theme of the 11th AGON- International Archaeological Film Festival is Archeology in the broadest sense - the recording of a world that is lost, today that becomes the archeology of tomorrow. Antiquity, the Middle Ages, Industrial Archeology, Folk Arts and Traditions, and Cultural Heritage in general, as a connecting link of the Ecumenical Community.

The AGON FILM FESTIVAL’s International Jury will award six (7) Outstanding Achievement Awards in the following categories:
• Grand Prix
• Archaeological Film
• Direction
• Script
• Photography
• Special educational effectiveness
• Conceptual Originality
The theme of the 11th AGON- International Archaeological Film Festival is Archeology in the broadest sense - the recording of a world that is lost, today that becomes the archeology of tomorrow. Antiquity, the Middle Ages, Industrial Archeology, Folk Arts and Traditions, and Cultural Heritage in general, as a connecting link of the Ecumenical Community.
Eligible for submission are ONLY films produced after January 1st, 2015.
Digital submission files must include:
• The AGON FILM FESTIVAL entry form filled and dully signed by both the director and the producer of the film.
• The video file (or a link for download)
Required formats: mp4 1024x576 pixels (for the selection)
mov 1920x1080 pixels Apple ProRes (for the screening)
• A “word for word” script/scenario of the film. Text scenarios must include ALL dialogue, interviews, and narration: in short, must include ALL audio material
• An English or French translation of the text. Please pay special attention to this clause as AGON FILM FESTIVAL bears no responsibility for faulty translations of special or any other terminology included in the translated text.
• 4 high-definition photos – excerpts of the final cut of the film – 2 upright and 2 horizontals
• 2 high-definition photos of the film director – 1 upright and 1 horizontal
• Short CV and filmography of the director
• Α short trailer
• Full portfolio of promotional material in English (if available)
