SR Socially Relevant Film Festival (#SRFF2021) presents two sidebar programs of films screening in-person and online in August.
Rejoice, Resist: Black Indigenous People of Color Films (August 29-September 2nd) is a film series celebrating Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) films and filmmakers, marking the BLM movement and advocating social justice for all oppressed people. It is organized by SR Socially Relevant Film Festival New York together with festival partners ImageNation and The Black Independent Filmmaker App, and is sponsored by Black Public Media, and the short-form video platform Rizzle. It highlights a FREE block party on August 29 in Harlem, and a panel and FREE in-person film screenings at Marcus Garvey Park on August 30. A series of films streams online from August
